Hola to the weekend. And welcome to another edition of our content updates. On Howfana, we post high quality content every Saturday morning. That’s just one of the things that make us so unique.

Somebody described December as ‘the Friday of the months’. While it’s true that this is the month with the most partying (at least in Nigeria), most of us have so many errands to run in December. It might be a good idea for you to write a list of everything you need to do.

While you’re at it, make a list of those folks whom you must buy gifts for. I know just the kinds of people who should be on that list; people whom you disappointed in 2017. You have to see that Christmas is the perfect time to make it up to them. From that person whose wedding you couldn’t make, to that person whom you owe a visit. A visit and/or a gift, timed at Christmas could ease your conscience.

It doesn’t help that we live in a society where people love to guilt trip you. You didn’t invite me, eh? You’ve deleted my number, eh? You’ve forgotten about me, eh?

It is not practical to say ‘sharapp’ to your loved ones who act needy, so see if you can accommodate them too, in this season of fence mending.

If you don’t have the money or time to visit, then maybe a phone call is all you need. This year, I learned the value of calling up an old buddy or colleague; you might just form a friendship that’s incomparable to what you had previously. And you’ll have the opportunity to bond with them…while they are here.

I would like to take the opportunity to honor a friend of mine who passed away a week ago. Last week, while prepping our content for launch, I received the news that popular On Air Personality, Cleopatra Tao had passed on. She was one of the pioneer OAPs on Rhythm PH, before she moved on to Rhythm Benin and later, Planet FM in Akwa Ibom. God bless her soul.

I am glad for the friendship that we were able to cultivate in the last five years. This sibling style friendship was borne out of a simple call to a former colleague. That’s why I’ll never underestimate the value of such a call. Reach out to someone today, why don’t you.

I found myself getting upset too quickly too often this past week, and it’s not pretty. There are times you find yourself in a position to use the advice you give to others. This is mine.

Here is an opinion I hold on anger. It might help you… and me:

It’s like a hand grenade thrown in, whose pin is off. It’s only a matter of time before it explodes and destroys everything within its radius.

Like in military combat, when a hand grenade is thrown at soldiers, there are two options:

1. Run away from that environment, as far as possible, and as fast as possible.

2. The brave soldiers pick up the hand grenade and throw it out as far as possible, and as fast as possible.

That’s how it is in life. No life developing decision is made in anger, only life damaging decisions come out of it.

When the anger sets in, don’t let it stay. Throw it right out, right away, or get away from that environment as far as possible, and as fast as possible.

If you allow it, it will SURELY destroy everything within its radius.

Enjoy your weekend.

December is the month for celebrations. I wish everyone a pleasant holiday season in advance.
Today I am pondering about numbers and why they are so weird. This will be a bit more interesting than you would imagine so read through to the end. In Numerology (the study of Numbers…duh), answers are derived from adding digits together. Let me give an example.

2 + 2 is 4, – 1 that’s 3 quick math. (No joke)
20 + 27 = 47
Right? The previous sum in Numerology would look like this:
20 + 27 = 47
= 4 + 7. That equals 11 but it doesn’t end there
= 1 + 1
= 2.

In Numerology, everything comes down to a single digit. Also, the numbers 3, 6, and 9 hold special properties.
If one were to keep doubling numbers infinitely, they would notice that 3, 6, and 9 are missing. Again, let me explain.

From the beginning 1 + 1 = 2, 2 + 2 = 4, 4 + 4 = 8. That’s fine right? This is where it gets interesting. 8 + 8 = 16 which is 1 + 6 (remember it all comes down to a single digit). That being said 8 + 8 comes to 7. Moving on, 16 + 16 = 32 which is 3 + 2. We have 5 as a final answer. 32 + 32 = 64 which is actually 10 and that is 1 (Single digits). If you go on, you will see that we will never get 3, 6, or 9 as a result.

Now let us double 3. 3 + 3 = 6, 6 + 6 is 12 (and that is 2 + 1, which is 3) 12 + 12 = 24 (which is 6) 24 + 24 = 48 (which is 12 and as such, 3). If you follow this sequence till eternity, you would find that we will only always have 3 and 6 as final results. Weird isn’t it?

So how about 9? Why does it not show up anywhere else? Well that is because 9 is even weirder.
If a person were to double 9 to infinity, the end result will always be 9 (9 + 9 = 18 which is 1 + 8) Do the math for yourselves and like they say, numbers never lie. Also, when 9 is added to another single digit, the answer remains the same digit (9 + 1 = 10 which is 1 + 0 and that is 1, 9 + 4 = 13 and that is 1 + 3… Weird right?)

We are not done with 9 just yet. 9 also has a way of showing up in angles. Indulge me here.
The angle on a straight line = 180o
The Angle in a circle = 360 o
A right Angle = 90 o
The angles in a triangle will always sum up to 180 o
A square has 4 right angles = 360 o
All the interior angles in a pentagon = 540 o
Hexagon = 720 o
Nonagon = 1260 o
Decagon (10 sides) = 1440 o
Dodecagon (12 sides) = 1800 o
Every single one comes down to 9.

So what the hell is in that number? Is it coincidence? Or some sacred pattern weaved into the fabric of our world? Well like I said, I am pondering. I will leave us all with this quote from the great inventor Nikola Tesla. “If you knew the magnificence of the three, six and nine, you would have a key to the universe.”
